Marijuana

Alright, alright, I know this a somewhat touchy subject, but it has to be discussed sometime. I was watching a documentary the other day about the so called "war" on drugs. Apparently, if we legalize and tax cannabis, we would get an average 10,000,000,000$ extra into our country's budget. Also, adding on extra charges from not having to chase down "potheads", the police force would have an extra 3,000,000,000$ in their budget. Marijuana has no known long lasting effects, decreases blood pressure, helps with pain, and helps with anorexia. I mean come on, couple of anorexic people would probably get the "munchies", and it would help them. The documentary also stated that we get around 25,000,000,000$ from taxation of tobacco products. But they also reported the charges that is stressed onto our healthcare from the harmful effects of tobacco, which is around 250,000,000,000$ each year. Honestly, we need to stop this phony "war" on the cannabis plant.
And now I leave you with this really sick rasta pipe.

  1. Legalize it not just for the kids who want to fget high. but for the people getting killed trying to stop the trafficing and the people getting arrested for possessing canabis. plus to help the economy greatly. im sure it would get us out of this recession

  2. I was reading a news article today about a mother giving her eight year old daughter botox. What blows my mind is that, giving a eight year old BOTOX is allowed, but marijuana isn't.

  10. Of course it's phony. It's a waste of time and only in place because of the religious people in America. Honestly, these same people wanted to outlaw alcohol too, and they succeeded for a while. The only difference is that Alcohol has a better marketing department.

  11. I agree with Hoaks2 about comparing it to alcohol. No one can deny that there is a demand for it. If there wasn't then people wouldn't still do it even though it is illegal. The only thing is - now you have dead beats and gangs making money off of it. It if were legalized there would be honest business set up. There would be regulation to protect business owners and the consumers. Also, the huge tax benefits that you mentioned.
